Help spread the word that people 18- through 24-years-old and experiencing homelessness have until July 12 to apply for the waiting list for Harmon Gardens – an innovative, 15-unit affordable housing complex in Berkeley created, funded and coordinated through City efforts.
Applicants who are homeless at the time of the application will be placed in a random lottery. The first 25 selected will be placed on the waiting list.
Applicants, who can include up to one other person in their household, must make less than $51,800 if they apply alone or less than $59,200 if they include another person in their application.
To apply, download or pick up a paper application. Submit your completed application by 5:00 pm on July 12 to enter the housing waitlist lottery. Only one application per household.
The waitlist process and this central Berkeley property are run by Satellite Affordable Housing Associates, a nonprofit affordable housing developer and provider.

Harmon Gardens: housing to support a variety of needs
Harmon Gardens is a 15-studio apartment building for transition-age youth and one manager's unit that provides permanent homes to develop independent living skills and connections in the community.
Residents receive high-level supportive services through a partnership with Fred Finch Youth Center and Berkeley Mental Health, enabling them to maintain their housing while living independently. Harmon Gardens has been carefully designed to meet the needs of the target population, incorporating feedback from project service providers and consumer preference surveys.
This centrally located development in Berkeley provides residents with convenient access to neighborhood amenities, along with a range of on-site services and facilities. The building design boasts several notable features, including a spacious community clubhouse, offices for property management and social services, a computer room, and laundry facilities. Additionally, residents enjoy easy accessibility to AC Transit bus lines and the Ashby BART Station.
The City of Berkeley Housing Trust Fund program supports this property to provide affordable housing opportunities for the Berkeley community.
